Terms of Service

The rules of engagement for the terminal — written to match how the platform actually works, including the consent architecture that governs every Youth/AAU Athlete.

Draft v0.9 · All persons referenced in platform demos are fictional

Draft — pending review by counsel. Not yet binding.

This document defines the intended contractual posture of the platform. It becomes operative only after legal review and formal publication with an effective date.

Staged — Wired, Awaiting Activation

01 · Platform Description

BALLANTIR AI is a sports-intelligence terminal: scouting evaluations, film analysis, recruiting boards, and evidence-linked reports for players, families, coaches, and programs. The platform combines human scouting input with AI-assisted analysis. Every AI-assisted output is labeled as such in the interface.

Ballantir provides intelligence and analysis tools. It does not provide agent services, athletic representation, medical advice, or academic eligibility determinations.

02 · Accounts & Roles

Access is role-based. Each role carries distinct permissions and obligations:

  • Player / Family — manages the athlete profile and controls consent for evaluation and sharing.
  • Guardian — required account type for any Youth/AAU Athlete; holds consent authority and full access-history visibility.
  • Coach / Program — operates boards and recruiting views scoped to athletes who have granted permission.
  • Scout / Analyst — contributes evaluations under the provenance doctrine; contributions are attributed and auditable.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for safeguarding your credentials. Accounts may not be shared or transferred.

03 · Youth/AAU Athlete Protections

Ballantir treats minors as a protected class of user, not a smaller version of an adult account.

  • No Youth/AAU Athlete profile is created, evaluated, or shared without verifiable guardian consent recorded in the consent ledger.
  • Consent is granular: profile existence, evaluation, report generation, sharing, and AI-training use are separate grants. AI-training consent is never bundled with any other grant.
  • Revocation is honored immediately. Revoking consent unpublishes dependent reports and halts dependent processing in the same transaction — not on a review queue.
  • Guardians may review the full access history of their ward's data at any time via the Trust Center.
  • No facial recognition or automated biometric identification is used on any athlete, of any age.

04 · Evidence & Reports

Every claim in a Ballantir report is governed by the provenance doctrine: assertions are linked to their source — film timestamp, verified statistic, scout observation, or AI-assisted inference — and labeled accordingly. Reports distinguish between observed fact, derived metric, and projection.

Ballantir makes no guarantee of athletic outcomes. Evaluations, ratings, and projections are informed opinions and analytical estimates. They are not promises of recruitment, scholarship offers, draft position, professional advancement, or performance. Decisions made in reliance on Ballantir reports are the responsibility of the decision-maker.

05 · Subscriptions & Billing

Products, tiers, and pricing are defined by the configurable catalog published on the Pricing page. The catalog in force at the time of purchase governs your subscription. Ballantir may revise the catalog prospectively; changes do not retroactively alter an active billing period.

Enterprise engagements are consultant-led: scope, deliverables, and fees are set in a separate order form or master agreement, which controls over these Terms where the two conflict.

Fees are stated before purchase. Refund and cancellation terms will be finalized with counsel prior to commercial launch.

06 · Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Access or attempt to access athlete data outside your granted permissions.
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-export platform data, including athlete profiles and evaluations.
  • Upload film or data you do not have the right to submit, or misrepresent the identity of any athlete.
  • Use the platform to harass, exploit, or improperly contact any athlete — contact with Youth/AAU Athletes must route through the guardian.
  • Reverse-engineer, resell, or white-label the platform without a written enterprise agreement.
  • Circumvent consent controls, provenance labels, or audit logging in any way.

07 · Intellectual Property

The platform — including the terminal interface, rating methodologies, report formats, and underlying software — is the property of Ballantir. Purchasing a report grants a license to use it for personal or organizational evaluation purposes, not to resell or republish it.

You retain ownership of the film and data you upload. You grant Ballantir the limited license needed to store, process, and display it under the permissions you configure. Use of any athlete data for AI training requires a separate, explicit, revocable consent grant — it is never implied by upload.

08 · Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Ballantir disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the extent permitted by law.

Ballantir is not liable for recruiting decisions, roster decisions, or financial outcomes made in reliance on platform analysis. Aggregate liability caps and carve-outs will be finalized with counsel before these Terms become binding.

09 · Governing Law

[Placeholder — governing law, jurisdiction, and dispute-resolution provisions will be determined with counsel. Candidate frameworks under review include a US-state forum for the commercial entity alongside COPPA (US) and GDPR (EU/UK) compliance tracks for data-protection matters.]

The consent, provenance, and audit systems referenced above are inspectable in the Trust Center. The privacy posture is documented separately.
