Identity, consent, and provenance are not features of Ballantir — they are the foundation every feature is gated by. This is the infrastructure regulators, guardians, and partners get to inspect.

Verifiable Parental Consent

Guardian accounts are verified through FTC-recognized methods (PRIVO Safe Harbor, KWS ParentGraph, signed form + KBA). No minor is onboarded without a verified guardian link.

Append-Only Consent Ledger

Every grant and revocation is an immutable event. Current consent state is derived, never edited. Revocation propagates immediately — dependent reports are unpublished in the same transaction.

No Facial Recognition

Identity on film is confirmed by human reviewers. Automated biometric identification is not in the product — a governance decision, enforced in the schema.

Immutable Audit Trail

Every access to a minor's data is logged to an append-only audit table. Guardians can review their ward's full access history at any time.

BIPA / CUBI / State biometric law

No automated facial recognition or biometric identifiers collected. Identity confirmation is human-performed, eliminating the per-person statutory damages surface.

State kids' codes (AADC)

Designed to the strictest standard: under-18 treated as protected, high-privacy defaults, guardian controls, no dark patterns, documented data practices.
